SPRING SEMESTER COURSE: MARCH 14TH - JUNE 13TH

THE HISTORICAL RELIABILITY OF THE BIBLE

How do you know that the Bible you’re reading today is actually the words of God Almighty? Is it reliable historically, logically, and doctrinally? Has God left us any clue that the Bible is His one and only book, or is this a man-made designation? This course will answer those questions, and many more. Together, we will focus on a meticulous exploration of the Bible in respects to its historicity, canonicity and inspiration. From ancient manuscripts to archeology to the methodologies used to affirm the Bible’s veracity, you will be taught why you can fully trust that the Bible is historically reliability and doctrinally definitive as the Word of God.

Course Goal: 1) To equip you with a comprehensive understanding of the manuscript data behind the biblical text. 2) To challenge you to critically examine the evidence supporting the Bible's history and doctrine. 3) To experience confidence in the Bible as you’re equipped with historical insights to your faith.3) To enhance your ability to articulate the foundations of biblical reliability and its implications for Christian doctrine.

what is the school of Discipleship?

The School of Discipleship at Living Waters is designed to nurture and deepen your trust in Christ and His Word. It's a place where believers can grow, delve deeper into the truths of Scripture, and become more prepared as followers of Christ for
everyday life. It’s just as the apostle Paul declared when he prayed over the Colossian Church “to walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.” (Colossians 1:10). This is also our prayer. We want to see each believer fulfill their unique call of God on their lives and to become mature in Christ Jesus. Here we have the opportunity to be ever more fruitful. Two Objectives in the School of Discipleship:1. Offer you in-depth knowledge on the Bible through instructional teaching.2. Grow you and establish you in the solid ground of the Gospel.

Am I a right fit for the school of discipleship?

The School of Discipleship is open to any man or woman who desires to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord. So, “Yes you are!”

Can i attend Online?

Yes! Classes will eventually become available online through an online learning center. That is currently in the works. We want to make each course available and accessible to all who have an interest in growing as a disciple of Christ. That said, courses are built for in-person attendance. We strongly encourage this over online attendance.

Do i earn anything by completing a course?

You will earn a Certificate of Completion for the course if you attend in-person, complete the homework and pass the course tests. There are plans for offering formal certifications for completing multiple courses. Stay tuned!

Can this prepare me for ministry?

Courses are specifically chosen in order to provide you with instruction for discipleship, which is also useful for those interested in entering the ministry. But as the old saying goes, “ministry is caught, not taught”. Our desire is to train you through classroom instruction, and trust that God will guide you toward applying it in hands-on service for His glory. Whether you want to serve on Sunday mornings, lead family devotions at home, start a Bible study with friends, share the love of Christ with your neighbor, or even serve abroad in the mission field, The School of Discipleship is built to equip you for the ministry.

Schedule & Enrollment

Each year the School of Ministry offers 2 Semesters of courses broken up into 6 week tracks across the Spring and Fall seasons. Courses will be happening in the classroom on Saturday mornings from 10am-12pm or available online later. We strongly encourage you to attend class in person. All enrolled students will have access to an online student center full of additional resources for study and discipleship.

A note from pastor Greg

There isn’t anything I love more than a deep study in the Word of God. Think of it! There are countless treasures to be found in the Bible and God lets us explore it like an open world full of wonder. You never know what golden nugget of wisdom might be hiding under that word in Romans, or what transformation might be uncovered in that doctrine in Hebrews! The Word of God is truly amazing. What comes in second to studying the wonders of the Bible is teaching them to those who are hungry. There’s nothing like unraveling the truths of the divine with a group of men and women who crave to know more about the mysteries of God and His wonderful Gospel. Thankfully, we get to do this holy task every Sunday at Living Waters Fellowship. But for some, Sundays are only an appetizer. They want more. They crave more. The School of Discipleship is meant to fill this very craving. It’s meant to satisfy your hunger, equip your soul, and grow your fruitfulness as a disciple of Jesus. So dig in your heels! Enroll in a course. Commit to it. You won’t regret it. I believe it’ll change your life. Can’t wait to see you in class.
