God is light (see 1 John 1:5), and from the God of Light shines Jesus, our Savior, who is called the light of men. Jesus embodies God’s direct application of His light to humanity. As the writer of Hebrews declares:
Since God is light directly, Jesus serves as God’s light for humanity reflectively. His light is the eternal life that He sought and purchased with His own precious blood on the cross. Do you see the intimate connection, Beloved? God has shared Himself with you through His Son, Jesus Christ! What an incredible cascade of Gospel truth!
How then shall we respond to this truth?
First, let us settle once and for all that Jesus Christ is the God of Light, for He is one with the Father and shares the same essence as God. The Father and the Son do not compete for glory; they share in each other’s glory, perfectly united as One. Our Triune God cannot be divided! Together, they are One Light, and the person of Jesus is God’s light for us. For this reason, Christ is worthy of all our honor, glory, and praise!
Second, let us recognize that the light of Christ is intended to bring us eternal life and, through us, to illuminate the world with that same eternal life! As Christ reflects God’s light to the world, we are called to reflect Christ’s light in our lives! Are you reflecting the light of Christ today?
Third, since Christ has shone His light upon us, let us walk in that light. Step boldly into Christ! Allow His light to fill every shadowy corner of your life and banish the lingering darkness! In Christ’s light, there is joy amidst sorrow; peace amidst conflict; grace amidst struggle; and mercy amidst failure!
Beloved, you are no longer part of this dark world. You are light in the Lord! Be a mirror reflecting His light and walk in full assurance of Christ’s illumination!

“So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai…” — Esther 7:10 (NKJV) This verse is the most ironic and satisfying event in the Book of Esther — perhaps even in the entire Word of God...

Beloved, when you ponder these words, you might find them peculiar. Do not grow weary! It's like telling a laborer not to sweat in his toil. Yet, is this what the apostle Paul means? Is he seeking to cultivate a slothful heart, indifferent
